E. Stone : 'Dear Sir/ We hope to open our New Building in/ March next. The little hall in which we now/ meet is crowded. Every month there are some/ additions to the church. Our folks are poor &/ have given even unto self denial. Yet to/ complete we need about £5000./ I am seeking friends to promise by the March/ 1st one hundred five pounds & 500 one guinea each. May I ask you to kindly aid us & so/ allow us to enter upon our work in the New/ Chapel without a debt too heavy for this/ new cause to carry & thus extend our Lord's/ Kingdom in this town./ I am sincerely/ H. E. Stone'; on the verso this letter is inscribed: 18/3/1909/ Dear Mr Jiggins/ Will you accept this/ as a memento of your kind help/ March 17th & will you kindly/ continue to act as steward where/ you did so well yesterday./ I covet your prayers & bless/ God for you/ your loving Pastor/ H.
